Description
The Church Hall, located in Batcombe Village, is an early 19th-century building originally designed as a school and meeting hall, now serving as a church hall. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble with freestone dressings and features an M-shaped slate roof, a brick stack, and a stone bellcote, along with late 19th-century zinc vents. Designed in the Tudor style, the hall is a single storey with three bays, each bay containing three-light stone-mullioned windows, where each light has a 4-centred arch head and labels, complemented by diagonal buttresses. The central porch is gabled and matches the overall style, featuring a 4-centred arch outer door opening, a base for a finial, and paired ribbed doors. The other elevations of the building are also in a conforming style.
