Description

This loose box, dating from the 18th century, is located approximately 30 metres north-west of Downs Farm Cottages. It is constructed from coursed roughly squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof with a rectangular plan. The building has a single-width doorway on the west side and a shuttered window on the south wall, topped by a hipped roof. Inside, there is an original wooden feeding trough and original roof beams, with one beam running from side to side and others extending from corner to corner, along with a single upright beam at the centre.
