Description
The gate piers at The Lodge, built around 1914 by F.C. Eden, are a pair of stone structures that, along with adjoining walls and subsidiary piers, form the former entrance to Cerney House. The piers are made of ashlar and are square in shape, featuring moulded cappings and large pyramidal finials topped with oval finials at their peaks. The walls, approximately 1 meter high, curve away from the gate piers and lead to the subsidiary piers, which stand about 2 meters tall and also have pyramidal cappings.
