Description

The gatepiers and quadrant entrance wall to Burdocks, formerly listed as the gatepiers and quadrant entrance wall to Claremont House, are located on the east side of Marston Maisey Lane in Fairford. These structures date from the 18th century and feature square coursed rubble piers that are approximately 3 meters tall. The piers have ashlar bands, a moulded cornice, and gadrooned ball finials. Flanking the piers are coursed rubble walls that are about 1.20 meters high, with sloped coping. These walls curve forward in a quadrant shape to connect with the perimeter walls, extending about 16 meters along the roadside.
