Description
The gate piers and boundary walls located to the north-east of The Old House date from the late 18th century. The gate piers are made of rusticated ashlar, which was formerly lime washed, and measure about 450 mm square and 2.5 meters high. They feature moulded cappings that support large decorative urns, although there were no gates present at the time of the survey. The flanking walls are constructed from thin-bedded coursed stone and are also lime washed, topped with flat weathered coping. On the left side, the wall forms a quadrant approximately 2.5 meters high and 2.5 meters long, while on the right side, there is a straight run with a quadrant return, totaling about 4.5 meters in length and 2.5 meters high.
