Description
The Lodge, Burdocks is a small detached entrance lodge built around 1911 by Sir E. Guy Dawber for J. Reade. It is designed in the Cotswold Queen Anne style, featuring coursed rubble stone and a hipped stone slate roof with wooden eaves modillions and a stone stack. The building is square, with a single storey and an attic. Each side has a gable dormer with swept down sides, a small pediment, and paired 6-pane casements. The front of the lodge has two paired 8-pane casements with relieving arches on either side of a central recessed half-glazed door. This door has a panelled reveal and a moulded wooden pedimental hood supported by brackets.
