Description
The former coach house at Guiting Stud dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is built of ashlar stone with a limestone slate and slate roof, featuring ashlar stacks. The building has an F-shaped plan with two projecting wings on the left side, which are part of the 19th-century addition. The right side is two storeys high, while the left side is a single storey with an attic.
The right-hand block has irregular fenestration, with two and three-light wooden casements with glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor features two and three-light cambered arched windows, along with two doors: a fielded six-panel door on the far left and a four-panel door on the right. There is a wide segmental-headed arch with a keystone and imposts on the left, topped with a dormer.
The left-hand block has projecting wings and a central double door, flanked by two dormers, with a plank pitching door above. A wooden bell turret with a rounded domed roof and weather-vane is located on the far left. The right-hand gable end has a twin flue stack, and there is a stump of an axial stack from the projecting right-hand gable. This building was formerly the coach house for Guiting Grange, which has since been demolished. The interior has not been inspected.
