Description

This is a late 19th-century detached cottage located in Guiting Power. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with ashlar quoins and window surrounds. The roof is slate, with limestone gable coping and stacks. The cottage has an "n" shape, with wings projecting to the rear, and two gable ends which slightly project from the facade on the left and right sides. A porch projects forward from the right-hand gable. The cottage is one storey with an attic, and has irregular window placement. The windows are stone-mullioned casements, mostly with one or two lights and stilted heads, with a 20th-century steel casement over the porch to the right. A double door is located in the left-hand gable end. The castellated porch has an almost flat arched entrance, and contains a plank door with a moulded surround featuring curved corners. The roof has roll-moulded gable coping and large moulded kneelers. Twin diagonal axial stacks are located at the right-hand end of the building. The interior was not inspected at the time of listing.
