Description

Duckleston Mill is a former mill that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th to early 18th century, with minor extensions added in the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with dressed stone quoins and a stone slate roof featuring ashlar stacks. It has an 'L'-shaped plan and stands one and a half storeys tall.

The entrance front includes a gabled half dormer on the left, which is lit by two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements. The ground floor features two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with horizontal glazing bars. The gable of the cross wing to the right has two and three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements. There is a 20th-century plank door located off-centre to the right. An inscription reading 'FOR GRINDING AND CHAFIN 4D A BUSHEL' is incised into the stone lintel above the doorway on the right-hand return. Above, there are two half dormers with 2-light stone-mullioned casements. The mill previously had an undershot wheel at the north gable end. The building features gable-end and lateral stacks, with the ashlar stacks having moulded skirtings. The interior has not been inspected.
