Description

SHERBORNE SHERBORNE VILLAGE SP 1615 9/179 Former wheelwright's forge and pigsty c20m north of No 1 GV II

Former wheelwright's forge and adjoining pigsty. Late C18-early C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone, stone slate roof, ashlar stack. 'L'-shaped plan with pigsty at gable end of wing running forward to left of main body. Single storey. Two open bays divided by square stone-built pier. Right-hand bay now blocked with weatherboarding and corrugated iron. Unglazed casement to right. Two-light unglazed casement and plank door to left. Stump of ashlar stack at left gable end of main body. Remains of forge and bellows at left-hand end of main body.
