Description
The Kennels is a detached house located in Sherborne Village, dating from the early to mid-19th century, with a later extension at the rear. The building is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and features 19th-century ashlar and 20th-century dressed stone stacks. It has an 'L'-shaped plan and a symmetrical facade that is one and a half stories high with three windows. The upper floor is illuminated by three half dormers, each containing two-light stone-mullioned casements. On the ground floor, there are two additional two-light stone-mullioned casements flanking a shallow stone-built porch that has a triangular pediment. The porch houses a part-glazed 19th-century four-panel door that is set back within it. A band runs between the floors, and the gable ends are finished with flat coping and stacks. This property is owned by the National Trust.
