Description
Nos 24 and 25 in Hatherop Village are a pair of cottages, likely originally part of a group of three, dating from the late 17th century and restored in the 19th century. They are constructed from coursed or random coursed rubble stone and topped with a stone slate roof featuring three stone stacks. The cottages form a long single range divided into two main sections, with a change in roof height and an additional small 19th-century wing to the west. They are single storey with an attic, and each end has small gables that contain 2-light wood casement windows with timber lintels. There are two gabled 19th-century porches, and the remaining windows are either 2 or 3-light, also with timber lintels. On the far left, there is a half-glazed door leading to No 25, with a row of quoins partially visible in the wall to the right of the doorway. These cottages correspond across the allotment garden to Nos 26, 27, and 28.
