Description

The Severals is a large detached house, originally built as a rectory in 1833 by Richard Pace. It is constructed primarily of incised render on the south front, with the remainder of the exterior in coursed rubble stone, featuring a plinth, a hipped slate roof, and several stone stacks with moulded cornices. The building is arranged in a U-shaped plan, mainly over two storeys.

The south front has a plain cornice, a blocking course, and end pilaster strips. It has three windows with 20-pane margin sashes set in shallow reveals. The ground floor windows are larger and have plain stone architraves with semi-circular tops, filled with ashlar to create a tympanum. A central, projecting stone porch has panelled pilasters, a frieze, and a large, projecting moulded cornice, topped with a small shallow pediment featuring cross-arched acroterion ends. The porch contains double, half-glazed margin light doors with fielded lower panels.
