Description
Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse divided into two occupations, likely built in the early to mid-18th century, with 19th-century extensions. The original 18th-century section is constructed of limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins, while the 19th-century extension features coursed squared and dressed limestone. The roof is made of artificial stone slate, and there are ashlar stacks.
The building has a 'U'-shaped plan, with the 19th-century extension located at the rear right and left of the main body. The garden front of the main body has two gabled wings that project forward on the right and left sides. The central part of the main body is three storeys high, with the upper floor illuminated by two hipped three-light roof dormers. On the ground floor, there are two tall three-light stone-mullioned casements. An off-centre right small 20th-century gabled porch with a glazed door is situated between the windows.
The right gabled wing is two and a half storeys tall and features two and three-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods and leaded panes. The left gable is two storeys high and has single and three-light casements with keystone lintels, with a gabled feature that possibly indicates a projecting stair visible on the left-hand return. A single-storey 19th-century extension on the left is lit by two and three-light casements. The building has axial, lateral, and gable end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
