Description

Yanworth Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse located in Yanworth, built in two stages from the late 17th century to the mid-18th century, with possible early 19th-century alterations. The building is constructed of limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins, ashlar stacks, and a stone slate roof. It has a 'U'-shaped plan, with the earliest wing extending to the left and a possible early 19th-century wing to the right.

The garden front features the original two-storey and attic structure, with a gable end on the left side that is lit by a single light. There are two and three-light stone-mullioned casements throughout. The left-hand return has a 17th-century two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with a stopped hood, along with two 20th-century stone-mullioned casements. The rear wall contains two 17th-century two-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods.

To the right, there is a 1½-storey extension at right angles, consisting of three bays with two gables on the left, each featuring two-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods and pigeon holes. The rear gable has a single light with a stone surround and a continuous hood. The ground floor includes two and three-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods, all of which were replaced in the 19th or early 20th century. Access to the interior is through an off-centre right plank door with fillets, approached by stone steps leading up to it, topped by a raking roof.

Inside, the farmhouse features tie beams with moulded stops, although only a partial inspection of the interior has been conducted.
