Description

Hill House Farm is a farmhouse built in the mid-19th century. It features coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed quoins, while the rear extensions are made of raised coursed squared and dressed limestone and brick. The main body of the house has a slate roof, and the rear extensions have a concrete tile roof. There are 20th-century stone stacks on the main body, along with ashlar and brick stacks. A single-storey extension to the left of the main body has a stone slate roof.

The main structure is rectangular with an extension at right angles to the rear right and a lean-to extension at the rear left. There is also a single-storey possible former wash house to the left of the main body. The facade is symmetrical, with three stories and three bays, featuring a projecting central porch. The ground floor has sixteen-pane sash windows with horns, while the first and second floors have 12-pane sashes with horns. The central gabled porch has a part-glazed 20th-century double door at the front, and there is a double door with glazing bars within the porch.

The cellar beneath the porch has two 2-light stone-mullioned casements on either side. The left gable end has a four-windowed, single-storey extension with two 2-light steel casements with concrete lintels, a segmental-headed window with glazing bars, and another 2-light casement with glazing bars. The extension at the rear right has two 2-light stone-mullioned casements on the ground floor and two 12-pane sashes with flat leaded roofs on the upper floor. The gable ends of the main body have flat coping and stacks, and there are axial stacks on the extensions. The interior has not been inspected.
