Description
Bedwell House is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with extensions added to the rear in the mid to late 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and 20th-century ashlar stacks.
The main structure is rectangular and features a symmetrical three-storey facade with three windows. The ground and first floors have twelve-pane sash windows, while the second floor has six-pane sash windows with horns. All windows are framed within plain architraves. A central stone-built porch with a hipped roof leads to a fielded six-panel door, which is also set within a plain architrave.
The cellar is illuminated by a two-light stone-mullioned casement located under the front left-hand room. The roof is hipped and has stacks at the gable ends. There is a two-storey extension at the rear and a single-storey extension to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
