Description
This is a barn located approximately 50 meters north-west of Hill House Farm, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a concrete tile roof. The barn has a rectangular plan with a projecting porch on the south side and lean-tos on either side of the porch.
The central porch is gabled and two-storey, featuring a two-light stone-mullioned casement window in the gable. There is a lean-to extension at the front of the porch, with plank doors leading into the lean-tos on either side. The barn includes ventilation slits and a lean-to porch on the north side, as well as a pitching window at the right gable end. The gable ends have flat coping and moulded kneelers supporting the projecting porch.
Inside, the barn has five bays and retains original roof trusses that include collar and tie beams along with double butt purlins. There are reputedly date and initials at the east gable end, but access is difficult due to corn drying machinery present in the barn.
