Description
This is a barn and attached outbuildings located 10 meters northwest of Bedwell Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The structure is built from coursed squared and dressed limestone, featuring a stone slate roof, while the pigsties have a corrugated iron roof. The barn is positioned at the right end of the range and has a projecting porch on its south side. To the right of the porch is a lean-to with a plank door, and to the left are a store and stables, with the pigsties forming a lean-to at the front. The barn porch has double doors, and there is a single-width plank door to the lean-to on the right. Access to the loft of the store is through a plank door with a hipped roof, reached by a flight of steps running up the right-hand side of the pigsties. A plank door to the left of the pigsties leads to the former stables. The barn porch also has a hipped roof. Inside the barn, there are five bays featuring original roof trusses with queen struts. This complex represents a well-preserved range of farm buildings with varied rooflines, situated immediately adjacent to Bedwell House.
