Description
Frampton Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse, with extensions added in the 19th century. The original core is constructed of large blocks of coursed squared and dressed limestone, while the 19th-century extension is built of random coursed squared and dressed limestone. Both have stone slate roofs, and there are ashlar stacks. The farmhouse comprises a main rectangular block from the 18th century, extended to the west in the 19th century, along with smaller 19th-century additions to the south and east. The main block is two storeys and has an attic, with single-storey extensions at ground level. The south front, which faces the 19th-century extension, is symmetrical with two windows. It features two 3-light stone-mullioned casement windows with stopped hoods on the ground floor, and two 2-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods on the first floor. There are also two 2-light gabled dormers. A central gabled stone porch has a Tudor-arched entrance with a stopped hood. The original 18th-century range is partially hidden by a 19th-century extension at a right angle and a lean-to, both featuring 3-light stone-mullioned casement windows. A 2-light roof dormer is visible on the 18th-century range. Stone-mullioned casement windows are also present at the rear. Axial and gable-end stacks have moulded cappings, and the gable ends feature flat coping. The interior was not inspected.
