Description

This barn, located approximately 70 meters north-west of Old Park House, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of random limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a rectangular plan with a projecting porch and a lean-to on the south-west side, along with an extension at the north gable end.

On the south-west elevation, there is a central gabled projecting porch that originally had a double doorway, which is now blocked and replaced with a single-width plank door and a boarded-over window above. To the left of the porch is a lean-to with a plank door on the return wall, and to the right of the porch is a pitching door that currently lacks a door.

The north-east elevation shows a former double doorway that is now blocked with corrugated iron, featuring a window above it. There is also a 3-light slate lean-to canopy supported by wooden brackets above a 3-light wooden casement window with glazing bars to the right. Stone steps lead up to a plank door on the right side.

Inside, the barn consists of five bays with original collar and tie beam roof trusses, and a loft has been inserted within two of the bays. The barn is prominently situated beside the road at a junction.
