Description
Manor Farmhouse is a detached house dating from the mid-17th century. Above the entrance porch, there is a plaque inscribed with 'THIS HOUSE / Rep(?)ayd) by Eliz / S - ngers ?(17)73', and another plaque below it states 'This house was restored 1936'. An extension, which is in the Cotswold style, is dated and initialled 'ERWR/AGR/1836'. The building is constructed of limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins and features a stone slate roof. The chimney stacks were repaired in ashlar in the 20th century. The house has a rectangular plan with a single-storey extension and is two storeys high with an attic. The garden front has four windows, which are lit by single-light and three and four-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, with hollow chamfers on the ground floor (the single-light casements are from the 20th century). There is a 19th-century plank door located off-centre to the right, which has two glazed panes at the top, set within a 20th-century gabled timber-framed porch supported by two timber uprights. The house also features two two-light hipped roof dormers and gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
