Description

The war memorial, designed by F L Griggs in 1919, is made of stone and has an octagonal shape. It features two steps leading up to a high plinth that displays panels of names beneath shields representing local families. The tall shaft is topped with a gabled cross, and additional shields are located at the base of the shaft. The memorial is surrounded by low rubble walls with weathered capping; on the south side, the wall serves as a retaining wall approximately 4 feet 6 inches high, facing the road. This memorial serves as an important focal point in the area.
