Description
Badger's Hall, formerly known as Morrey's Stores, is a mid-17th century urban tenement block located on the southeast side of High Street. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble and features a Cotswold stone roof. The building has four gables facing the street, with only the left-hand gable retaining its original ground floor, which includes a six-light stone mullioned casement window with a drip mould above. There is a modern door and a small-paned 19th-century shop front, along with plain doorways leading to through passages. The building stands three storeys tall, with the first floor showcasing four six-light stone mullioned windows, and each gable featuring a four-light window. The gables rise nearly to the main ridge level, and there is a stone and brick stack at the rear. A rear extension includes mullion windows and cornice strings, with Tudor arch doors leading to the through-passages. Inside, there is a large fireplace with a reeded wooden lintel that has a Tudor arch cut into it, located at the back of the shop. Additionally, there is a Tudor arch fireplace on the first floor and a small attic fireplace with a roll-surround.
