Description
The Green Dragon shop and Moreton House, located on the north-west side of High Street, were remodeled in the mid-19th century. The Green Dragon shop features three storeys constructed from coursed and squared rubble, topped with a low-pitched slate roof. It has two plain sash windows, with Yorkshire-type windows on the second floor. A central sundial, which is dated 1647 and originates from a previous house, is a notable feature. The shop has a contemporary angled shop-front with a central entry, and to the left, there is a passage doorway with a moulded Tudor arch that may be original. The rear of the building is partly brick.
Moreton House has been refronted in ashlar and consists of two storeys and an attic, featuring two gabled dormers in its slate roof. It has two ranges of plain sash windows and a panelled door with an overlight to the right. The rear of Moreton House dates back to the 17th century and includes one labelled window and one rebated window. Additionally, there is a long single-storey extension at the rear with a slate roof and a blocked three-light mullion window on the south side.
