Description

45 Cromford Hill is a house and former shop built in the mid-18th century, featuring a shop front added around 1900. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and has both tile and slate roofs. It is two storeys high with three windows on the first floor facing North Street. There is a lean-to on the west end that includes a shop window facing Cromford Hill.

The house has a four-pane sash window on each floor to the left of a blocked quoined doorway. To the right, there is a casement window beneath the sash, followed by another casement window on each floor, which has an altered 18th-century square-faced surround. The building has brick stacks at the ends.

The shop features a doorway to the left of a canted bay window, which has sashes arranged in a 4:8:4 pane configuration, set on a sill band, with stone mullions and lintels. The hipped roof is interrupted by a shaped gable that includes a louvred roundel and ashlar copings.

The interior has not been inspected.
