Description
The Shop is a house and shop located on High Street in High Littleton, dating back to between 1775. The building is constructed from squared and coursed rubble with flush quoins, stone dressings, and copings, topped with a slate roof, although some slates have been renewed on the house. The shop runs parallel to the road, while the house is set at right angles to it.
The house has two storeys and features two windows. All windows are two-light edge-moulded mullions with hoodmoulds, except for the central upper window, which is a round-headed, keyed single light opening with a hoodmould. The ground floor windows have six-pane sashes, while the upper windows have two panes; the central upper window includes intersecting glazing bars. A 20th-century lean-to wooden porch leads to a six raised and fielded panel door, with the top two panels being glazed. There is a datestone to the left of the central upper window, and the building has end stone stacks.
