Description
Two houses, likely dating from the early 19th century and visible on the 1841 Tithe Map, are situated to the rear of Nos 18 and 19 North Street, Cromford. Constructed of coursed rubble with tiled roofs, the houses consist of two parallel and adjacent ranges forming low wings. They have gables finished with coping stones. Two-light mullioned windows, which have been renewed, are found on the end walls, at both ground and first floor levels. Later 20th-century windows are present on the side elevations, and doorways feature large stone lintels. While considerably altered in the 20th century, the original arrangement of the houses remains intact, and they contribute to an important group including Nos 14-29 North Street to which they are attached.
