Description

The building is a pair of late 18th or early 19th century barns situated to the rear of 59 to 63, The Hill, in Cromford. The buildings were originally shown on the 1841 Tithe Map. They are constructed of roughly coursed rubble with a tiled roof to the right-hand building and corrugated iron to the left. The roofs have different pitches and a vertical masonry joint indicates a division between the two buildings. Both buildings have doorways, the left-hand one featuring a stone lintel, and both have planked doors. There is one first-floor window opening. The right-hand building has a blocked three-light chamfered and rebated stone mullioned window inserted into the ground floor. There are no openings to the end or rear walls.
