Description

SP 0937 BROADWAY CP THE GREEN 8/22 War Memorial GV II War memorial. Circa 1920 by F L Griggs. Limestone. Octagonal base set on two octagonal steps, with third, lower, step on alternate sides. Base inscribed: "In memory of the Men of Broadway who Died in the War of MCMXIVXIX and in Honour of their Comrades". Above, the sides of the octagonal socket stone have sunken panels which are inscribed with the names of the dead. The shaft tapers and supports a Latin cross within a lozenge.
