Description
No 22 High Street is a shop that dates from the early 19th century and was altered in the early 20th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and is divided into three bays. The ground floor has bowed timber shop windows with glazing bars, while the first floor contains sashed windows with glazing bars and plain reveals. The doorway located between the first and second bays has a timber surround and a timber hood supported by brackets. The left-hand gable is coped, and there is a chimney situated between the second and third bays as well as on the left-hand gable, which has a brick cap. A late 19th-century photograph indicates that there was originally a tripartite sash window and a doorway in the third bay, suggesting that the right-hand shop window is a later copy of the others.
