Description

This milestone is located on the former Akeman Street, a Roman road, and dates from the early to mid-18th century. It is a single stone slab approximately 0.8 meters high, featuring a curved top. An iron plate is attached to the stone, painted white with embossed black lettering that reads: "TO / CIRENCESTER / 4 / MILES".
