Description
This listing describes a group of three chest tombs located about 3 meters southwest of the Swinerton memorials in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. The tombs commemorate members of the Ralph family, including John Ralph, who died in 1803, another Ralph who died in the 1830s, and one unidentified tomb from the late 18th century.
The tombs are made of limestone and feature flat tops with moulded plinths. The two Ralph memorials have reeded or panelled corners and central panels on the long sides, with plain rectangular panels that may contain later inscriptions, as well as inscriptions on the tops. The unidentified chest tomb has a nearly eroded top inscription, plain fielded panels on the ends, and long shallow recessed panels on the long sides.
