Description
This listing describes a group of two chest tombs and one pedestal tomb located to the west and south of the tower of the Church of St. Peter in Caverswall. All three tombs are made of stone. The pedestal tomb is dedicated to Ralph and Joseph Boulton, who both died in 1807, featuring battered sides, pediments over the inscription panel, and a heavy moulded surbase. The chest tomb for Ralph Lees, who died in 1811, has a moulded plinth and pilasters at the corners, all resting on a repaired brick base. The other chest tomb is for Hannah Wallace, who died in 1771, and is similar in design to the one for Ralph Lees.
