Description
Orchard Cottage is a detached house located in Windrush, dating from the mid 17th century to the mid 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a concrete tile roof and features ashlar stacks. The main body of the house has a rectangular plan, with two storeys and an attic. The facade has two windows, with two 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements on the first floor. On the ground floor, there is a small 2-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement to the right and a three-light wood casement to the left. The entrance includes a 20th-century part-glazed stable-type door with a stone lintel. A hipped 2-light roof dormer with glazing bars is present, along with flat coping and stacks at the gable ends. There are 20th-century extensions to the left and at the rear of the main body, which are not of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
