Description
No. 23 The Green is a house in a row, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and features ashlar stacks. The main body of the house has a rectangular plan, with a forge that projects forward at right angles on the right side. The two-storey facade has two windows: a three-light casement with glazing bars and a cambered head located in the lower right, and a single light to the left with a horizontal glazing bar. There is an off-centre plank door on the left side, which includes a 4-pane hall-light. The former single-storey forge on the right has two garage doors on the left-hand return and a three-light casement with horizontal glazing bars to the left. The house has stacks at the gable ends of the main body and an axial stack for the forge. The interior has not been inspected.
