Description
This building is a cartshed with an attached granary and cowhouse, dating from the 19th century. It is constructed from random rubble limestone and has a stone-slate roof. The cartshed features three bays facing south, with a staircase to the granary located at the rear. The attached cowhouse extends to the east, also facing south.
The front of the cartshed has three cart bays supported by timber lintels and stone piers. There is a central pitching hole above with a small plank door, and exposed beam ends. The cowhouse has three timber plank doors, flanked by a pair of small openings with timber lintels, and a central pitching hole above.
Access to the granary is through a high-level doorway in the west gable end, which has a plank door covering the lower half of the opening and a timber lintel above. The north side of the building is blank, except for stone stairs leading to the granary doorway, which has a top landing with nosing. There is also a plank door with a partially sprocketed roof above, forming a small porch. This building is included for its group value with the nearby Manor Farmhouse.
