Description

This is an early 17th-century chest tomb located in the churchyard, 1 meter west of the Jefferis memorial and to the south of the Church of St. Michael. It is made of limestone and features a brass plate added at the west end in the 19th century. The tomb is long and narrow with plain ends and sides, and it has a very thick chamfered top and a chamfered base. The brass plate is inscribed with the names Hester Boulton, who died in 1847, and Thomas Boulton, who died in 1858.
