Description
This is a barn located approximately 70 meters north of Upper Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from random coursed, roughly squared limestone with dressed stone quoins and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a rectangular plan and includes porches with projecting cheeks on the north and south sides, with the south porch having a corrugated iron roof. There are open-fronted shelter sheds on the south side, adjacent to the west gable end, which are not considered of special interest. The east gable end has a segmental-headed pitching window, and both gable ends feature owl holes along with square ventilation holes in the gable ends and side walls. Inside, the barn consists of five bays, retaining the original scissor-braced collar beams and double purlins. This barn is included mainly for its group value.
