Description

Number 9 Calcot is one of two adjoining cottages, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof, with a limestone rubble stack that has been restored in brick at the top. The cottage is one and a half storeys tall and has a gablet.

On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century three-light steel casement window with a concrete lintel. The gablet has a two-light steel casement window, also with a concrete lintel. The entrance features a plank door with a thumb latch, located lower right, and is sheltered by a segmental corrugated iron canopy with ogee-curved boarding, supported by wooden brackets. The gable end has a projecting stack with a curved bread oven on one side. The interior has not been inspected.
