Description
Shaw Green Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th century, with extensions added in the 18th or 19th century. The main part of the cottage features squared-panelled timber framing with painted brick infill and painted brick sections. It has a thatched roof adorned with decorative ridge thatching. The chimney stacks are a mix of brick and restored ashlar. The building has a rectangular plan with later extensions at both gable ends. It stands at one and a half storeys tall, featuring two 2-light eyebrow dormers with early leaded glass panes on the first floor. The ground floor includes two and three-light casement windows, some of which also have leaded panes. There is a four-light canted bay window with leaded panes on the painted brick extension to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
