Description
Elmfield House is a house built around 1830-1840, featuring stucco walls and a hipped slate roof with two axial brick stacks. The building has a deep plan that appears to be three rooms deep, with two main front rooms and a central entrance hall. The layout at the back is less clear but seems to include service rooms. The exterior is two storeys high, with a symmetrical front that has three windows, originally fitted with 12-pane hornless sashes. The central doorway is round-arched and has a rusticated plaster surround with panelled reveals, topped by a semi-circular fanlight and a 19th-century six-panel door. Panelled pilasters are present at each corner of the house. The interior has not been inspected but may feature high-quality 19th-century joinery and plasterwork.
