Description

Grenoven Farmhouse is a mid-19th century mine captain's house for Wheal Maria, now functioning as a farmhouse. The building is constructed of rubble rendered stone and features three bays on the right side with a slate-hung front. It has an asbestos slate roof with brick stacks located on both the left and right sides of the front and rear slopes. The layout is a double depth plan with a central entrance, where the principal rooms are situated to the right and left of the passage, while service rooms are located at the rear. A straight staircase leads to the rear left of the passage, and all rooms are heated.

Attached to the left side of the farmhouse is a two-storey integral stable that shares the same roof height and has a rear entrance. The farmhouse itself is two storeys tall with three windows across the front. The ground floor features two 16-pane sash windows and a central 20th-century door with an overlight. Above, there are three hipped half-dormers, each containing a two-light casement window with eight panes per light. The right gable end is rendered, while the left gable end has buttresses.

At the rear, there are 16-pane sash windows on the ground floor to the left and right, a central plain door, and two hipped dormers with casements similar to those at the front. Additionally, there is a 20-pane stair light located off-centre to the right. The stable end at the rear includes a door and a two-light casement window with eight panes per light. The interior has not been inspected.
