Description

Hafod-y-Llan is a two-storey farmhouse with an integral storeyed stable bay on the right side. The house features a three-window range, with an additional window above the stable bay. It is constructed of whitened rubble and has a continuous slate roof with plain end chimneys on the house section, along with weathercoursing. The central entrance to the house has a boarded door and a late 19th-century slated canopy porch. On the left, there is a 15-pane early to mid-19th-century unhorned sash window, while on the right, there is a later 19th-century six-pane sash window. The far right bay has an open stable entrance, and there are four 16-pane unhorned sashes on the first floor, similar to the others. There is external stone-stepped access to a first-floor entrance on the right gable of the stable, which has a boarded door. At the rear, there is a full-length contemporary outshut with modern plain-glazed windows, and a modern WC addition is attached to the left gable of the house.

The farmhouse has a two-unit plan with a central entrance. Inside, the former hall on the left has a slate-flagged floor. To the right of the entrance, there is a post-and-panel partition, with plain beams and joists. The hall fireplace features a chamfered, cambered bressummer and a bracketed mantelshelf. The interior includes boarded doors and an inner partition to the left of the entrance. A plain 19th-century stick baluster dog-leg stair leads off from the hall, with a boarded underside.
