Description
Dinas Ddu is a two-storey, two-unit farmhouse with an end chimney, built in rubble construction and featuring a lofted stable on the left. The farmhouse section is finished with early 20th-century roughcast and has a continuous slate roof with slab-coped gable parapets and simple chimneys. The entrance to the farmhouse is off-centre, featuring a recessed boarded door. On either side of the entrance, there are four-pane late 19th-century sash windows on both the ground and first floors, each with projecting slate sills. All window openings have raised plaster architraves, typical of the region.
The stable section includes two entrances: the left one is open, while the right has a boarded stable door, both with flush slate lintels. To the left of the stable is a blocked window, and above the left entrance is a small sash window, similar to the others.
Adjoining the right gable end of the house is a lean-to brewhouse block, which is either contemporary or nearly contemporary to the farmhouse. This block features a squat chimney at the front and a central boarded door on the side, with flanking 19th-century windows—one with six fixed panes on the left and a smaller two-pane window on the right. The stable gable has an external stone-stepped access leading to an upper boarded entrance. At the rear, there is a contemporary catslide dairy extension, along with a wheel pit addition to the right, although the waterwheel is missing.
The interiors are plain and date from the early 20th century.
