Railings, Walls And Gates And Piers About 14M North West Of Woodland View

This listing describes the railings, walls, gates, and piers located about 14 meters northwest of Woodland View in Tavistock Hamlets, Devon. Dating from around 1850 to 1860, the structure features cast iron railings and a wrought iron gate set on a low wall made of slatestone rubble, which is topped with dressed slates. The railings extend approximately 30 meters and include larger principal rails that are baluster-shaped with prominent spear tops. The railings rise up to an off-center gateway, supported by twisted struts on the side rails. The fine cast and wrought iron gate has two horizontal rails with circular designs between them, a semi-circular lower strut, and a scrolled decorative upper section. At the right end, there are two plain granite piers about half a meter high, which support a small gate made of similar rails, featuring a semi-circular lower strut and a central taller vertical rail topped with a diamond finial.
