Description

A pair of cottages dating from the 18th century. They are located at the northern edge of the village on Hayfield Road, originally on a lane leading to Narracott Farm. The cottages were originally listed as a pair. They are built of cob walls, partially rendered, and have a gabled corrugated iron roof. Each cottage has a small rendered brick stack at each gable end.

The cottages have a two-room plan, with the outer room heated. They are two storeys high, and the front elevation has an asymmetrical arrangement of four windows. The upper windows are 19th-century three-light casements. The ground floor contains two central windows; the left-hand one is a 20th-century metal-frame two-light casement and the right-hand one is a 20th-century one-light casement. A 19th-century plank door is positioned to the left of centre, and a 20th-century plank door to the right. The interiors were inaccessible at the time of the survey.
