Description
Nos. 23, 25, and 27 Fore Street are a row of three cottages built around the early 19th century. They feature rendered stone rubble walls and gable-ended slate roofs, with a brick stack located at the left gable end. The cottages are two storeys high and have an asymmetrical front with four windows. No. 23 is on the left with one window, No. 25 is in the center with one window, and No. 27 is on the right with two windows. All the cottages have original tripartite 20-pane sash windows on both floors. No. 23 has a 20th-century part-glazed door to the left, while No. 25 features a 19th-century four-panel door to the right. No. 27 has an original 12-pane sash window on the left side of the first floor, with 20th-century three-light casements elsewhere. It retains its original doorcase on the left, which has narrow pilasters and a contemporary six-panel door. The interior has not been inspected.
