Description
This linhay, dating from the 18th century, is located approximately 20 metres to the north-east of Higher Nichols Nymett in North Tawton. The structure features rubble and cob walls, with some repairs made using concrete blocks. It has a hipped corrugated iron roof that still retains thatch underneath over about half of the building. The linhay has a long rectangular plan, consisting of a four-bay linhay on the right and what is likely a cart shed on the left. The building stands two storeys tall. Originally, the linhay on the right was open-fronted on both floors supported by rubble piers, but the ground floor bays have been partially filled in. The cart shed on the left end has a wide entrance with a similar opening above. Inside, there are 20th-century roof timbers.
