Description
No. 8 Buttgarden Street is a house that appears to have been merged with one of the adjoining houses. It dates from the early to mid 19th century and features a solid rendered front with a slate roof. There is an old red-brick chimney with a rebuilt top located on the left side wall, which seems to be shared with No. 7. The house is two storeys high and two windows wide. On the left side of the ground floor, there is a 6-paned former shop window, likely from the mid 19th century. To the right, there is a former doorway that now contains a 20th-century 6-paned sash window with horns. The left-hand second-storey window is box-framed with a 6-paned lower sash and a 3-paned upper sash, while the right-hand window is blind. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
